Likewise, her relationship with Superman/Clark Kent shifted as social attitudes changed, moving from playful reporter rivalry and secret-identity misunderstandings to a deeper partnership and mutual respect. Despite these changes in tone and characterization, one constant remained throughout the years: Lois’s enduring desire to marry Superman.
